Chingiz Baktybekov, a 33-year-old worker at the capital's Thermal Power Plant, was among those injured in an accident. He suffered 15% body burns in the explosion and spent 24 days in the hospital. Doctors estimate his recovery to take between six months to a year before he can return to work. However, the plant's management has refused to provide assistance, according to Baktybekov.

Baktybekov, the sole breadwinner for his family of two children and a housewife wife, is now appealing to the authorities for support until he fully recovers and can resume work. The incident occurred on February 2nd at the Bishkek Thermal Power Plant, with the cause of the explosion still unknown. Five people were injured, with three hospitalized and two receiving outpatient care. Schools and kindergartens in the capital switched to online learning during the incident. The heating and hot water supply in Bishkek was fully restored on February 7th, and on February 9th, the national headquarters announced the completion of the cleanup at the site.
