in Society / Kyrgyzstan - by

During a recent visit to the Chui region, Prime Minister Akylbek Zaparov toured a plant in Tokmak that recycles car tires, operated by the closed joint-stock company "Kumtor Gold Company." The project aims to transform waste into profit by adopting German technology to restore tires of all sizes, reducing replacement costs, and increasing the efficiency of Kumtor Gold Company.

The plant, currently in a testing phase, is set to be fully operational by the end of 2024. Employing around 200 people, the facility processes over 2 tons of old tires per hour, with a total project investment of $19.2 million. The manufactured products will not only be sold in Kyrgyzstan but also exported to neighboring countries.

In addition to tire recycling, the plant plans to produce functional children's sports playgrounds from rubber crumbs. Prime Minister Zaparov expressed interest in installing these playgrounds in schools and parks nationwide, highlighting the plant's commitment to sustainability and innovation.
