The Mayor of Bishkek, Aybek Djunushaliev, has declared a state of emergency following a severe windstorm that hit the city. The announcement was made by the municipality's press service after a meeting chaired by the mayor to address the situation at School No. 62, which suffered damage from gusts of wind reaching 26 meters per second.

The city's leader signed an order to declare a state of emergency in accordance with the resolution "On the Approval of Classifications of Emergencies and Criteria for their Assessment in the Kyrgyz Republic." According to this resolution, a state of emergency is declared when wind gusts exceed 25 meters per second.

Mobile teams consisting of employees from district administrations, municipal inspections, and communal services have been deployed to inspect the affected areas, identify consequences, and assess potentially dangerous areas such as hanging roof fragments, air conditioners, large branches, and others.

All city services have been placed on high alert. Mayor Djunushaliev has instructed the mobilization of all available forces from communal services and specialized equipment to restore order in the city by tomorrow morning.

The Mayor's Office has tasked the city's monitoring department with forming a commission to investigate instances of substandard work on social facilities such as schools and kindergartens, where roofs were damaged by the windstorm.
