During a session at the Jogorku Kenesh, the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, addressed complaints from residents about the city's roads. Deputy Dastan Bekeshev described the road conditions as severe, likening them to paths for tanks.
Bekeshev expressed concerns about the lack of accountability for the deteriorating roads and questioned who should be responsible. He highlighted the roads in Bishkek and called for a solution to the issue.
The mayor acknowledged that major repairs were last carried out on these roads between 2003 and 2017. He stated that no significant repairs have been done since then and detailed plans for rehabilitating six streets, with funds allocated for the projects. One of the upcoming projects includes reconstructing a 1.5-kilometer road on Karadarinskaya Street, from Mederova Street to Tolstoy Street, which includes a railway passage. The mayor also announced plans for building four bridges to enhance the city's infrastructure.
