Temporary Suspension of Determining Insured Status Affects Hospitalizations in the Country

in Society / Kyrgyzstan - by

Due to a technical glitch in the Social Fund's information system, which administers and manages the insured status of working citizens, the determination of workers' insured status has been temporarily suspended. The Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund (FOMS) press service reported this issue.

As a result, planned hospitalizations in the country's medical institutions are being delayed. However, this does not affect children under 16, pensioners, and individuals receiving social benefits. Citizens with compulsory health insurance policies are not subject to this delay, as the management of the basic Compulsory Health Insurance Fund system is handled by the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund.

The FOMS reminded that having insured status entitles individuals to make a moderate co-payment (ranging from 840 to 1,510 ₽) depending on the hospital level. In the absence of insured status, citizens have to pay the maximum amount, ranging from 8,400 to 14,310 KGS.
