Kyrgyzstan Reports 7,864 Cases of Measles

in Society / Kyrgyzstan - by

As of April 8, Kyrgyzstan has registered 7,864 cases of measles, according to the Republican Immunoprophylaxis Center. Experts continue to observe intense virus circulation in Bishkek, Chui, and Jalal-Abad regions. The high growth in these areas is linked to organized outbreaks, leading to infections among susceptible individuals.

The main reason for the increase in measles cases is the significant number of refusals for planned immunization against measles and rubella among children and adults, as stated by the center. The Ministry of Health has strengthened preventive and anti-epidemiological measures to combat measles. The center urges parents to ensure safety and protection against serious diseases for their children and the community by vaccinating them.
