A festival dedicated to cosmonautics is currently underway in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, as announced by the Russian Cooperation Office in the country. From April 11 to 22, the festival "The Road to the Stars Begins in Bishkek" will be held in honor of Cosmonautics Day.
The event includes a lecture by historical sciences candidate Leonid Sumarokov and a discussion on the perception of space by the great thinker and artist Nikolai Roerich, presented by the Roerich Museum in Bishkek. Additionally, a documentary film titled "How I Became a Cosmonaut" will be screened, depicting the journey of an ordinary office worker fulfilling his dream of traveling to space.
As part of the festival, the first film shot in space, "Challenge" starring Yulia Peresild, was shown for free at the Manas Cinema in Bishkek on April 11, and will be screened in Osh on April 12.
Today, a wreath-laying ceremony will take place at the bust of Yuri Gagarin at School No. 25 in Bishkek, organized by the "Volunteers of Victory" movement as part of their "Heroes Street" campaign. Volunteers will remind citizens about the first cosmonaut and the significance of Cosmonautics Day. Several educational institutions will join the "Star Dictation" initiative, as highlighted by the Russian Cooperation Office.
From April 19 to 22, the festival anticipates the arrival of Russian cosmonaut Sergey Korsakov, a Hero of Russia and the first Bishkek native to travel to space, in the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
