President Sadyr Japarov responded to the statement made by the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Shakiev, regarding the need to block all content in Russian and English on the internet. Japarov shared his opinion in an interview with the "Kabar" agency.

He emphasized that everyone supports proposals for the development of the Kyrgyz language. However, Shakiev's words about Russian and English are his personal opinion.

Japarov stated that the state policy is completely different. Russian and English are global languages.

He highlighted the importance of Russian and English in international settings and the need for teachers proficient in these languages in Kyrgyzstan, especially in rural areas.

Japarov expressed the need for educators who can teach in both Russian and English, without increasing the number of teachers. He stressed the importance of multilingualism for the youth to broaden their horizons and understanding of different cultures.

The President mentioned his initiative to build nine schools with Russian-language education in Kyrgyzstan, with plans for construction to begin soon. He also stated that doors are always open for those interested in establishing schools with English-language education.

Japarov believes that it would be beneficial for the youth to speak five languages instead of three, as it would enhance their knowledge and worldview.

He reassured that the Kyrgyz language will continue to thrive and evolve, emphasizing the importance of embracing linguistic diversity while maintaining cultural identity.

Japarov concluded by highlighting the significance of preserving the Kyrgyz language and culture, stating that names and languages should reflect personal choices while encouraging a strong sense of Kyrgyz identity.
