During a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Janar Akaev requested the government to double the amount of payments to personal assistants caring for children with disabilities. Akaev emphasized the growing number of children with conditions such as autism, Down syndrome, and paralysis, highlighting the lack of attention from the state towards their parents.
He pointed out that the majority of those caring for these children are mothers, who receive a meager monthly sum of 6,300 soms. Akaev stressed the need for more rehabilitation centers, stating that parents lack the necessary resources and that there is a shortage of such facilities in the country.
Akaev suggested utilizing vacant buildings in the regions for the establishment of rehabilitation centers. This proposal aims to provide better support for families with children with disabilities and improve their access to necessary care and services.
