Residents of Kok-Zhar Concerned Over Joining Bishkek Without Land Clarity

In the village of Kok-Zhar, some residents are against joining Bishkek. They expressed their concerns.

According to them, they are worried about the possibility of losing their arable lands and pastures. "No one is informing us about what will happen to our lands, will we be able to continue keeping livestock?" they said.

It is worth noting that the day before, the city hall announced that the October administration organized a meeting with the residents of the municipal territorial administration "Kok-Zhar" as part of the administrative-territorial reform. The meeting was attended by representatives of subordinate and territorial units.

"Issues of land amnesty, water supply, transportation, as well as social matters were discussed," the municipality reported. They added that the meetings are held based on the decree of the president "On the implementation of administrative-territorial reform on a pilot basis at the level of village councils and cities of the Kyrgyz Republic."

As a reminder, the following areas were included in the administrative-territorial reform:

  • Village councils of Orok and Novopavlovka of the Sokuluk district;
  • Village councils of Kok-Zhar, Alamedin, Lower Ala-Archa, Lebedinovka, Maevka, Suburban Alamedin district;
  • Village Orto-Sai of the Tash-Deben village council of the Alamedin district;
  • Residential area "Anar-Bak" and contours No. 544, 545, 552 of the Kara-Zhygach village council of the Alamedin district;
  • Residential area "Altyn-Kazyk" of the Ak-Deben village council of the Alamedin district;
  • Contour No. 177 of the village Ak-Zhol of the At-Bashi village council of the Sokuluk district;
  • Village Mykan and residential areas "Ak-Zhar", "Nurkozho-Ata", "Adilet" of the Lenin village council of the Alamedin district.
