The municipal inspection, transport department, and road transport infrastructure development department, in collaboration with UPSM, are actively combating the stopping of vehicles in green zones, on roads, and other areas.
The city has municipal parking lots in 36 locations. Cars can also be parked on sections of city streets where there are no prohibitive signs. The exception is main streets where parking is strictly prohibited. To regulate traffic flow and prevent congestion caused by improper parking, the Bishkek Mayor's Office, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has developed a system using the "Hurricane" hardware-software complex. UPSM employees, while driving around the capital, automatically record traffic violations.
