Creation of Healthcare Coordination and Management Centers in Regions

in Society / Kyrgyzstan - by

The Ministry of Health announced the establishment of healthcare coordination and management centers in the regions as part of implementing the president's decree on reforming healthcare financing mechanisms to enhance efficiency.

These centers will oversee compliance with healthcare legislation, counter corruption, monitor drug procurement, address complaints against healthcare workers' misconduct, and ensure their accountability. The aim is to improve healthcare quality and accessibility for all citizens, as stated by the ministry.

Despite these initiatives, the population still faces systemic issues in receiving medical services, attributed to inadequate resources, inefficient fund allocation from the national budget and mandatory health insurance, staff shortages, and low motivation. The Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund, responsible for implementing state policies in basic and mandatory health insurance, has deviated into a financial body rather than ensuring quality healthcare provision. There is a need for enhanced quality control and prompt response to citizens' concerns regarding medical services.
