From April 15 to May 24, pilot testing for the international study PISA-2025 will take place in 66 schools in Kyrgyzstan. This was announced today at a press conference by Olga Bryzgalova, a leading specialist in the management of school, extracurricular, and additional education at the Ministry of Education.
The test will be conducted digitally in the areas of mathematics, reading comprehension, and natural sciences. The results will not be immediately available but will be known after some time.
Onolkan Umankulova, the National Manager for PISA, mentioned that the preparation for the field study began two years ago. The selected schools were only identified a few weeks ago, and now the process of selecting students is underway.
Fifteen-year-old students born from January 1 to December 31, 2008, will participate in the testing, with approximately 57 students in each school. The specific students included in the sample are not yet known.
The PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) is an international program that assesses students' educational achievements. It is expected that around 100 countries will participate in the 2025 PISA study. Kyrgyzstan has participated in PISA twice before, in 2006 and 2009, ranking last on both occasions.
