Major General Shodi Hafizzoda Holds First Public Meeting Since Appointment as Head of MVD Apparatus

Former head of Tajikistan's Organized Crime Fighting Department, Major General Shodi Hafizzoda, who was recently appointed as the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs apparatus, conducted his first meeting with members of the public in the Sino district on April 16, as reported by the MVD of RT.

During the meeting, Hafizzoda discussed topics such as preventing citizens from joining terrorist and extremist organizations, combating crime and violations, as well as issues related to illegal religious education.

This meeting marks one of Hafizzoda's first public engagements in his new role. His appointment had been circulating on social media for two weeks before being officially confirmed by the MVD.

It is worth noting that General Shodi Hafizzoda was removed from his position as head of the Organized Crime Fighting Department on February 2 of this year, with no information on his new appointment for over a month. The 43-year-old Hafizzoda has been holding leadership positions within the MVD since 2017.

In place of Shodi Hafizzoda, Colonel Saidakhtam Khotamzoda, 41, was appointed as the new head of the Organized Crime Fighting Department within the MVD.
