Tajikistan and Turkmenistan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

In Dushanbe, the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, discussed various aspects of the two countries' interstate relations. The importance of regular political dialogue at all levels and further active development of trade and economic relations were emphasized.

The discussions also touched upon the development and expansion of ties in prospective sectors such as oil and gas, chemistry, metallurgy, industrial cooperation, agriculture, transportation, and freight. Additionally, the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as collaboration within regional and international organizations, were addressed.

The heads of state also addressed regional security and enhancing cooperation between the relevant structures of the two countries in combating terrorism and extremism.

It is worth noting that Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's official visit to Tajikistan began today. The Turkmenistan Culture Days are currently taking place in Dushanbe, featuring an exhibition of paintings and traditional crafts at the National Museum.

Furthermore, a joint concert program titled "Evening of Friendship" featuring artists from Turkmenistan and Tajikistan will be held at the Kohi Borbad complex. On April 5th, participants will travel to Dangara to present their cultural program to the audience.
