Emomali Rahmon, at the invitation of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, flew to Moscow today on a working visit, the press service of the head of state reported.
The President will take part in solemn events dedicated to the 79th anniversary of Victory Day and an informal meeting of the heads of the CIS states in Moscow, as stated in the message.
Accompanying the President on the trip are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Presidential Assistant for Foreign Affairs, and other official figures.
It is worth noting that Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Sadyr Japarov, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Alexander Lukashenko, and Serdar Berdimuhamedov will also fly to Moscow at the invitation of Putin for the Victory Day parade.
Also invited are the Presidents of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, Guinea-Bissau Umaro Sissoco Embalo, and Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel.
More than 9000 people and 70 pieces of equipment will take part in the Victory Day parade on Red Square.
Last year, almost all the leaders of the CIS countries were present at the Victory Day parade in Moscow: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan - Sadyr Japarov, Tajikistan - Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan - Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Uzbekistan - Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Belarus - Alexander Lukashenko, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
