Tajikistan and Uzbekistan Sign 28 Cooperation Documents After Presidential Meeting

After the meeting of the presidents in Dushanbe, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan signed 28 important cooperation documents, as reported by the state leader's press service. The heads of state began by signing an Agreement on Alliance between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Subsequently, in the presence of the heads of state, representatives of the official delegations exchanged newly signed documents.

To enhance regional relations between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, five cooperation agreements were signed between the executive bodies of the Hatlon and Sogdian regions of Tajikistan and the authorities of the Khorezm, Fergana, Syrdarya, Namangan, and Andijan regions of Uzbekistan.

These agreements, protocols, memorandums, roadmaps, and cooperation programs signed during the Uzbek President's state visit to Tajikistan regulate the development and expansion of cooperation in crucial areas such as:

  • Borders and territorial coordination
  • Consumer rights and relations
  • Industry and trade
  • Transportation and communication
  • Agriculture and agro-industrial complex
  • Culture and education
  • Tourism and sports
  • Science and education
  • Medicine and healthcare
  • Energy and resource supply

It is noted that the documents strengthen the legal basis of multilateral cooperation between the two countries, opening up new opportunities for development and joint work in various fields.

Following the document signing ceremony, the heads of state held a press conference for journalists. They evaluated the results of the meeting and negotiations at a high level, expressing confidence in further strengthening and expanding the relations of friendship, brotherhood, and good neighborliness. The presidents emphasized that the signing of a series of new cooperation documents, including the agreement on alliance between the two countries, will open up broad prospects for relationship development.
