The Presidents of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, Emomali Rahmon and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, have officially opened the new building of the Uzbek Embassy in Dushanbe. This event was reported by the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
The inauguration of the diplomatic mission occurred during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Tajikistan. The new building is situated in the Zerafshan district of the capital, near the Embassy of the United States of America in Dushanbe.
During the ceremony, the Presidents jointly cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the building, and the national anthems of both countries were played. They also made entries in the guestbook, expressing optimism for the enhancement of friendship between their nations.
Diplomatic relations between the two republics were initially established on October 22, 1992. Subsequently, on April 18, the countries signed a Treaty of Alliance, further cementing their bond.
