Tajikistan's Ministry of Transport to Complete Construction of Five Road Sections by Year End

The Ministry of Transport in Tajikistan is making significant progress with the construction and reconstruction of road infrastructure. Five road sections are expected to be completed by the end of this year, and in 2024, five projects totaling $585 million will be completed, including the construction of 65 bridges, 5 tunnels, 5 corridors, and 278 km of roads of international and republican significance.

The road sections include:

- Rogun – Obi Garm – Nurobad, 76 km;

- Bohtar – Levakant – Lolazor – Dangara, 69 km;

- Kalai Khumb – Vanch – border of Rushan district, 93 km;

- section from the main Dushanbe-Khorog road to the center of Vanch district, 18 km;

- section from the main road to the center of Rogun city, 11 km.

The Ministry has emphasized the importance of timely completion of work with high quality. Currently, 12 investment projects totaling over $1.051 billion are in progress under credit and grant agreements.

The automobile transport sector in Tajikistan is crucial due to specific climatic conditions and geographical factors. Over 93.4% of goods and 99.8% of passengers are transported by road, highlighting the significance of road infrastructure in the transportation market.
