The US Embassy in Tashkent has released a statement regarding another repatriation flight with illegal migrants from Uzbekistan, which took place on March 3.

Last Sunday, 74 Uzbek citizens deported by the US were brought to Tashkent from Dallas. The flight was operated by the US charter airline Omni Air International. In December, 119 Uzbeks were deported.

This flight is part of the US government's response to Uzbek citizens illegally crossing the US-Mexico border, as stated in the embassy's announcement.

The embassy emphasized the dangers and costs of illegal migration to the United States and urged Uzbek citizens to avoid falling prey to criminal smugglers. They advised using safe and legal means for travel and work.

The embassy noted continued cooperation with the Uzbek government to repatriate citizens without legal grounds to remain in the US.

According to Fox News, citing US Customs and Border Protection data, over 13,000 Uzbek citizens were detained in the US from October 2021 to October 2023 while attempting to cross the border illegally.

In November 2023, the US announced they would no longer admit Uzbek citizens trying to enter through Mexico.
