WhatsApp Messages Incite Mass Riots in Issyk-Kul; Two Under Suspicion

in National Security / Kyrgyzstan - by

Two citizens in the Issyk-Kul region are under suspicion of inciting mass riots, as reported by the press center of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).

According to the information provided, O.J.A. and M.B.A. used WhatsApp to urge local farmers to organize mass riots, block roads, and take milk truck drivers hostage.

These individuals were active in WhatsApp groups with over 1,000 participants, spreading audio messages encouraging destructive actions that disrupt public order against the backdrop of seasonal decreases in milk prices (low fat content).

Based on a forensic linguistic examination, the audio recordings of O.J.A. and M.B.A. contain signs of incitement to organize mass riots. A criminal case has been initiated, and an investigation is ongoing.

The GKNB is calling on citizens not to disturb public order and not to fall for provocations spread on social media.
