Periodic gatherings of people and vehicles at the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan border have been commented on by the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan.
The statement explains that the gathering at the "Zhibek Zholu" checkpoint is due to the construction and expansion of the road at the "Gisht Kuprik" checkpoint on the adjacent territory.
Currently, the "Kaplanbek" checkpoint is closed due to repair works.
Furthermore, due to reconstruction work at the "Tazhen," "Atameken," and "Kazygurt" checkpoints, the movement of individuals and vehicles is restricted.
