Emergency Situations Headquarters of the Atyrau Region today, on May 21, 2024, provided updated data on the water level in the Zhayyk River (Ural).
As of 12:00 (compared to 08:00), the water level in the Zhayyk River remained unchanged, not rising by even 1 cm:
- Atyrau – 0, water level – 577 cm, critical level – 550 cm;
- Makhambet village – 0, water level – 1020 cm, critical level – 850 cm;
- Zhanatalap village – 0, water level – 419 cm, critical level – 500 cm;
- Erkinkala village – 0 cm, water level – 377 cm, critical level – 450 cm.
In Inderbor village, the water level in the Zhayyk River decreased by 1 cm – to 1010 cm (critical level – 845 cm).
On May 20, 2024, at the 25th km of the Atyrau – Inder highway, the Zhayyk River (Ural) overflowed. In connection with this, protective dams were urgently started to be erected along the road.
