On March 18th at 10:30 in the Kagan district of the Bukhara region, a road accident involving a bus and a truck resulted in the death of one person. The press service of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan reported the incident.
Following the collision between the bus driven by 33-year-old O. Sh. and the truck (concrete mixer) driven by 40-year-old M. M., both vehicles overturned. According to Xabar.uz, ninth-grade students from school No. 5 were on their way to the Bukhara regional music and drama theater.
A female student recounted, "The boys were placed in one bus, the girls in another. Our bus was following the one that was involved in the accident. Such a terrible accident happened before our eyes."
As a result of the accident, one of the schoolchildren sustained serious injuries and passed away in the hospital. The deceased boy was a ninth-grade student. Another student was hospitalized with injuries, while first aid was provided to the remaining 25.
Investigative actions are currently underway.
