Renowned Children's Poet and Editor Passes Away in Tashkent at 82

On April 4th, in Tashkent, the well-known children's poet and chief editor of the children's environmental magazine "Bulokcha" ("Rodnichok"), Raim Farkhadi, passed away at the age of almost 82. The Union of Writers of Uzbekistan confirmed this news.

Born on May 16, 1942, in Samarkand, Raim Farkhadi graduated from the Samarkand Medical Institute in 1965 and from the Maxim Gorky Literary Institute in 1971. He started his professional career in 1967, holding various positions in literary and editorial roles.

Until his passing, Raim Farkhadi served as the chairman of the Russian-language literature council of the Writers' Union and as the chief editor of "Bulokcha" ("Rodnichok"). He was the author of over 50 books in prose and poetry and was renowned for his translations of Uzbek children's poems and gazelles of Navoi and Babur into Russian.

A recurring theme in his work was his love for nature, and Raim Farkhadi was a frequent guest in schools across Uzbekistan. He received the honorary title of "Meritorious Worker of Culture of Uzbekistan" in 1989 and was awarded the "Dustlik" order in 1999.

In his poem "Man," Farkhadi beautifully reflects on the essence of humanity and resilience, emphasizing the indomitable spirit of humans to soar even with one wing. His works are a testament to his belief in the transformative power of beauty and the importance of creating beauty in the world around us.
