A personal exhibition titled "Duo" by Karakalpak artist Bahyttyar Serekayev has opened at the Ilkhom Theater with the support of the Bonum Factum gallery. The exhibition showcases 30 paintings in portrait and everyday genres, created over the past four years.
The main theme of the exhibition revolves around human emotions: attachment, sympathy, and most importantly, love. The relationships depicted by the artist are relatable and earthly. From the canvases, visitors are met with images of lovers, friends, parents with children - individuals with their own inner worlds, emotionally connected to each other.
According to Serekayev, the exhibition focuses on the interaction of opposites. The presence of multiple figures on the canvas allows for creating connections between them and makes the narrative more dynamic. The artist draws inspiration from everyday life and surroundings, painting intuitively without knowing the final outcome.
Serekayev explains that for him, the process of creating art is more important than the result, as it offers absolute creative freedom. The titles of the works presented at the exhibition are simple, such as "Couple," "Stroll," and "Hugs." Some paintings remain unnamed, as Serekayev believes that such details distract viewers from perceiving the art and learning more about themselves through reflection.
The artist aims to evoke the most contradictory emotions in viewers through his work, whether positive or negative. He invites visitors to the "Duo" exhibition at the Ilkhom Theater to experience his artistry until March 17, with free admission.
