in Society / Uzbekistan - by

The investigative department at the Shafirkansky district police department in the Bukhara region has brought additional charges against a local resident, S.N., who abused her child for an extended period. This was reported by the press service of the children's ombudsman of Uzbekistan, Surayo Rakhmonova.

In January, the ombudsman received information and video evidence that S.N. would put her six-year-old child in a cradle, tie him up, and beat him with a stick and other objects. A criminal case was initiated under articles "a" and "b" of part 2 of Article 110 (torture of a minor knowingly helpless) of the Criminal Code.

During the preliminary investigation, it was also revealed that S.N.'s actions had elements of a crime under part 2 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code – intentional infliction of serious bodily harm. The preliminary investigation has now been completed, and the case materials have been sent to the Shafirkansky district court for a legal decision to be made, according to the statement.
