15-Year-Old Schoolboy Sentenced to 3 Years in Prison for Car Theft in Tashkent

The Uchtepinsky District Court of Tashkent has sentenced a 15-year-old schoolboy to 3 years of imprisonment for car theft. The case was reviewed during an off-site court session at the school. The car owner reported the theft to the authorities after discovering the vehicle missing and damaged. He stated that he has no claims against the teenager after the damages were compensated.

The boy explained, "I had an argument with my uncle and left home. I didn't want to go back. I made a mistake. It won't happen again." It was revealed that the teenager had stolen cars twice before.

The court found him guilty of committing the crime under Part 1 of Article 267 (motor vehicle theft) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. The punishment was determined in accordance with Article 85 (imprisonment for minors) of the Criminal Code.

The schoolboy will serve his sentence in a correctional facility.
