Deputy Elvira Surabaldieva of the Jogorku Kenesh expressed her frustration on Twitter regarding the lack of response from the cabinet concerning nearly 1 billion som allocated for the paving of 50 central roads in Bishkek. According to Surabaldieva, repairs were only carried out on paper on 12 streets in the Pervomaysky district, with hundreds of millions of som being misappropriated.
She pointed out that a total of 50 major streets in the capital were impacted, with 1 billion som missing from the budget. An investigation was initiated by the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), but was closed after a payment of 25 million som was made to the budget. Surabaldieva emphasized the lack of accountability, stating that despite raising the issue in parliamentary sessions, no action has been taken.
