Son of "Madina" Market Owner Arrested for Financing Criminal Groups, Reports State Security Service

The son of the owner of the "Madina" market, Ilzat, has been detained for financing criminal groups, according to the press center of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).

The GKNB reported that Ilzat and the head of security at the "Madina" market have been detained for their involvement in money laundering activities related to the criminal group led by Kamchybek Asanbek. They are currently held in pre-trial detention.

It has been established that the detainees were involved in the laundering of criminal proceeds, knowing about the illegal activities of Kamchybek Asanbek and his extortion schemes targeting entrepreneurs. The head of the market's security service was a candidate for the Jogorku Kenesh elections in 2020, nominated by the party "Mekenim Kyrgyzstan" on Kamchi Kolbaev's quota.

Investigative and operational measures are currently being carried out in relation to the case.
