Prosecutor's Office in Osh Region Exposes Abuse of Power by Court Officials

in Corruption / Kyrgyzstan - by

The Prosecutor's Office of Osh Region recently conducted an inspection regarding the enforcement of court decisions, as reported by the General Prosecutor's Office. The investigation revealed that employees of the Osh City Court, while misusing their official positions, failed to promptly send enforcement orders to the Enforcement Service unit. This negligence resulted in eight cars that were meant to be confiscated not being handed over to the state.

Additionally, due to the unlawful actions of certain staff members at the Osh City Court, who wrongly issued enforcement orders for the confiscation of real estate in cases of serious and especially grave crimes, seven land plots were not transferred to state ownership. This led to financial damages amounting to 14,280,000 som.

In response to these findings, the Prosecutor's Office of Osh Region has initiated a criminal case under Article 337, "Abuse of Power," of the Criminal Code. The investigation has been assigned to the State Committee for National Security in Osh and the corresponding region.
