The former chief of the Balykchy Police Department, Bektor Osmonbaev, who was suspected of a hit-and-run on a girl, has been released from custody on a pledge not to leave the country. The decision was made by the City Court.

The criminal case against the accused has been terminated due to reconciliation between the parties. It is known that the motion to terminate the criminal case was filed by the victim.

The court's decision was also based on the fact that Bektor Osmonbaev was accused of committing a crime classified as "less serious".

On January 26, in Balykchy, at the intersection of Amanbaeva and Manas streets, a hit-and-run on a fifth-grade student occurred. The driver fled the scene. The girl's father claimed that the Chief of Police in Balykchy, Bektor Osmonbaev, was behind the wheel. Later, the father withdrew his statement and dropped the charges.

It was later revealed that following an internal investigation, the Chief of Police in Balykchy and his brother, who claimed to have been driving at the time of the incident, were relieved of their duties.
