The press center of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) announced the reimbursement of 11 million som in connection with the misappropriation of funds by officials from the Bakay-Ata District Education Department in the Talas Region.
According to the GKNB, the department's management, in collusion with certain employees, illegally transferred money as advances to the accounts of school and kindergarten staff, followed by misappropriation.
"In connection with this incident, the head of the K.B.T. and the chief accountant of the C.N.U. of the Bakay-Ata district education department have been removed from their positions," the statement said.
Investigative and operational measures are ongoing to hold other individuals involved accountable.
Earlier, the Accounts Chamber reported that embezzlement of 11,030,700 som was uncovered in the Bakay-Ata District Education Department.
