Corruption Scandal Unveiled in Issyk-Ata District, Kyrgyzstan

Officials in the Issyk-Ata district are suspected of corruption, as reported by the General Prosecutor's Office. According to the information, the prosecutor's office of the Issyk-Ata district in the Chui region checked compliance with land legislation.

It was found that in 2014-2015, certain officials of the Luxemburg and Novopokrovka rural administrations, along with the Issyk-Ata district state registry, created favorable conditions for the illegal transfer of a 10.9-hectare agricultural land plot to the "A.-T." LLC.

In 2021, officials collaborated with employees of the Issyk-Ata district court and individuals linked to an organized crime group to illegally change the designation of a 1.9-hectare agricultural land to "industrial land" and transfer it to the private ownership of the LLC for a bribe of $75,000.

The state suffered damage amounting to 70,559,000 soms. A land plot worth 54,417,000 soms was returned to state ownership. A criminal case under the charge of "Corruption" has been initiated by the district prosecutor's office, with the investigation entrusted to the State Committee for National Security in the Chui region.
