Parliament to Establish New Commission to Investigate Health Ministry Activities

A new parliamentary commission will be formed in the Jogorku Kenesh to examine the activities of the Ministry of Health. The announcement was made today during a plenary session of the parliament.

MP Jusupbek Korgonbay uulu stated that the first meeting of the commission took place yesterday. He emphasized the importance of avoiding conflicts of interest and proposed a review of the commission's composition to ensure objectivity.

Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Shakiev, acknowledged that the commission was hastily assembled and admitted to its shortcomings, suggesting the creation of a new one.

Jusupbek Korgonbay uulu requested that the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the State Committee for National Security take action based on his statements regarding the head of the Ministry of Health.

Previously, parliamentarians had established a temporary parliamentary commission to investigate the Ministry of Health's activities, a proposal put forth by MP Jusupbek Korgonbay uulu.

The commission includes the following MPs:

During the parliamentary session, Jusupbek Korgonbay uulu raised concerns about the Ministry of Health's head's alleged ties to organized crime and corruption, a sentiment echoed by his colleagues who demanded a review of the suitability of the Ministry of Health's leadership.
