Misappropriation Scandal Unveiled at Naryn State University

The leaders and responsible employees of Naryn State University have been detained for the illegal misappropriation of nearly 6 million soms. The State Committee for National Security (GKNB) reported that salaries were unlawfully paid to individuals not employed by the university by including them in the faculty list since 2016.

Candidates and PhD holders interrogated stated they had no employment relationship with the university and did not receive any salaries. Many master's graduates couldn't recall their dissertation topics or their academic supervisors, some even paid for their thesis defense.

GKNB highlighted that these violations went unnoticed by state authorities for a prolonged period. The total sum of unlawfully allocated funds by the university's management amounts to around 6 million soms.

The investigation is ongoing.
