Judge Alma Kadyrkulova Temporarily Suspended by President in Bishkek

President temporarily suspended Judge Alma Kadyrkulova from her position at the Sverdlovsk District Court in Bishkek. The corresponding decree has been signed.

According to the document, the judge was suspended from her position after the Council of Judges agreed to hold her criminally responsible. The Council of Judges reviewed the Prosecutor General's submission to agree to hold Judge Alma Kadyrkulova of the Sverdlovsk District Court in Bishkek criminally responsible for offenses under Article 337 (abuse of office) and Article 343 (extortion of a bribe) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The submission of the supervisory authority was satisfied.

Earlier, the GKNB press center reported the detention of Judge Alma Kadyrkulova of the Sverdlovsk District Court on suspicion of extorting a particularly large bribe. According to the investigation, she allegedly demanded $12,000. Along with her, a lawyer acting as an intermediary was also detained.

Alma Kadyrkulova has been remanded in custody at the GKNB pre-trial detention center until May 20th.
