An investigator from the Leninsky District Police Department in Bishkek has been detained for allegedly extorting a bribe. The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) press center reported the incident.
According to the SCNS, the investigator A.E.A was caught red-handed while receiving 180,000 soms.
"He demanded money from a citizen in exchange for a favorable decision on a criminal case and threatened to escalate the charges to a more serious offense," the statement said.
The detained investigator has been placed in pre-trial detention. The investigation is ongoing.
