An attorney has been detained for attempting to bribe a law enforcement officer with a particularly large sum of money. This information was reported by the General Prosecutor's Office.
According to the agency, the suspect was arrested by the Military Prosecutor's Office as part of a criminal case initiated under Article 345 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
M.K.M. was the lawyer for individuals accused of transporting and selling drugs on a large scale. He allegedly handed a bribe of $25,000 to an operative of the anti-drug trafficking service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Lawyer M.K.M. has been placed in a pre-trial detention center in Bishkek. Investigative actions are being carried out to establish the individuals involved in this crime.
