Kyrgyzstan Registers 8,209 Measles Cases, Health Authorities Take Action

in Healthcare / Kyrgyzstan - by

As of April 15, Kyrgyzstan has reported 8,209 cases of measles, according to the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis. Experts are witnessing intense circulation of the virus in Bishkek, Chui, and Jalal-Abad regions.

The high incidence in these areas is attributed to organized outbreaks, leading to the infection of susceptible individuals. The main reason for the rise in cases remains the significant number of refusals for measles and rubella vaccinations among children and adults.

The Ministry of Health has intensified preventive and anti-epidemiological measures to combat measles. They urge parents to ensure their children are vaccinated, emphasizing that it provides safety and protection against serious illness for both the child and those around them.
