Medical Aid Offered to Bishkek Unrest Victims; Minister Assesses Treatment

In the night from May 17 to May 18, 29 people in Bishkek sought medical assistance from emergency medical teams. Out of these, 15 individuals were taken to the City Hospital of Emergency Medical Care and the National Hospital, while the rest received help on the spot, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan.

As of the morning of May 18, two patients remain at the City Hospital of Emergency Medical Care. They have been diagnosed with closed head injuries and concussion. The patients' conditions are relatively satisfactory. One of the injured individuals left for outpatient treatment after receiving medical assistance.

At the National Hospital, 12 injured individuals were admitted with various injuries. After receiving medical care, 11 of them were discharged for outpatient treatment.

On May 18, the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Alymkadyr Beyshenaliev, visited the department of maxillofacial surgery at the National Hospital to assess the health condition of a Pakistani citizen who was diagnosed with a jaw fracture. The patient is being prepared for surgery to reposition the jaw fracture. The Minister instructed the management of the National Hospital to provide all necessary medical assistance to the injured individual.

The spontaneous protest against foreigners that began yesterday evening in Bishkek concluded only in the early hours of May 18. The police managed to negotiate with the participants of the protest, leading to the reopening of Chui Avenue, after which the crowd dispersed.

There are also reports on social media about an attack on a dormitory housing foreign students in Bishkek. However, there have been no official confirmations from the law enforcement agencies of the republic regarding this incident.
