Vepa Hadzhiev, the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations Office in Geneva, met with the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, to discuss cooperation in the field of healthcare and the prospects for its expansion. The online publication "TurkmenPortal" reported on the meeting.
During the meeting, particular attention was paid to the organization of a preventive healthcare system, sanitary education of citizens, promotion of a healthy lifestyle and sports, prevention of non-communicable diseases, and the conduct of informational campaigns.
The parties also discussed Turkmenistan's participation in the 77th session of the World Health Assembly, which will take place in Geneva from May 27 to June 1. Additionally, preparations for a high-level conference on combating non-communicable diseases in December were addressed.
