Electronic patient cards are being implemented in maternity hospitals, as reported by the press center of the Ministry of Health.
According to the data, the work is being carried out as part of the targeted model for the development of digital healthcare, Sanarip MED.
"For hospitals, a digital medical card has been developed and integrated with other healthcare information systems. It serves as a digital version of a paper medical history, containing information about patients and their medical cases in inpatient medical facilities," the department notes.
The electronic document covers all stages of patient medical care, including admission, diagnosis, treatment, and subsequent monitoring.
One of the modules is the history of prenatal and postnatal care, aimed at improving the quality of obstetric-gynecological and neonatal medical services.
"The project of the digital card for intrapartum and postpartum care during childbirth and the postpartum period is designed for the quality management of medical documentation with the aim of managing the health of the mother and newborn," highlighted by the Ministry of Health.
Thanks to quick access to information and the possibility of automatic monitoring of childbirth dynamics, transparency and the quality of services provided are increased. This allows for a more detailed account of clinical decision algorithms and contributes to cost reduction.
Access to the patient's digital medical card also facilitates the interaction of healthcare providers, especially for those in remote areas or with limited mobility.
"To monitor the implementation and use of the patient's digital medical card and improve its functions, testing has been launched to enhance the potential of medical personnel in healthcare organizations. Currently, training and implementation processes are taking place in five secondary and tertiary level maternity care organizations, namely in the Osh Interregional United Clinical Hospital, Jalal-Abad United Clinical Hospital, Issyk-Kul and Chui Regional United Hospitals, and the Perinatal Center of the National Maternal and Child Health Protection Center," added the department.
The training and implementation processes are being carried out as part of a UN project aimed at reducing preventable maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity through innovative solutions. The project is supported and implemented by the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and the UN Population Fund.
