Suspect Detained in Bishkek for Involving Children in Pornography Business

A suspect involved in the child pornography business has been detained in Bishkek, as reported by the press service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs.

According to the information provided, officers from the "K" division of the city's criminal investigation department, together with the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan with the assistance of the national police of the Netherlands and the police service of Norway, identified access to "blatant content" through special operational and technical measures and internet monitoring.

It was noted that facts of storing and distributing materials containing sexual violence against children through websites, both in the open access and in the darknet, have been established. Law enforcement officers also found that websites containing child pornography content are being created and distributed in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic. Information about individuals responsible for creating and distributing these materials in the country has been obtained.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 162 (complicity in involving a child in the pornography business) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic in connection with this case. According to the Main Department of Internal Affairs, access to such websites is carried out through cryptocurrency transactions, with the involvement of Kyrgyzstani nationals.

During the investigation, a citizen N.M.T., born in 1989, was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. During a search at the suspect's place of residence, technical devices, personal computers, and their components were found and seized. Upon initial examination of the software, files on one of the desktop computers were found to contain child pornography materials. Investigative and operational measures are being taken to identify other individuals involved in criminal activities for legal assessment of their actions.
