Members of a transnational criminal organization, who were reportedly planning an assassination attempt on the leadership of Kyrgyzstan, have been exposed as being connected to Raiymbek Matraimov. This revelation was made by Kanat Tumyrbekov, the chief of staff to the president, in a Facebook post.

Tumyrbekov disclosed that individuals who had arrived from abroad with intentions to harm the country's leaders were apprehended by the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), with indications pointing to Matraimov as the mastermind behind the plot.

Expressing deep dismay over the events, Tumyrbekov emphasized that certain individuals who had exploited the country and its people for years are now discontent with the positive changes brought about by the current administration. He stressed that indifference is the greatest enemy of the nation and called for unity among its citizens.

Earlier, the GKNB had reported the arrest of members of a transnational criminal group in Bishkek who were planning an attack on the country's leadership.

Former deputy head of customs, Raiymbek Matraimov, is currently in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, as confirmed by the GKNB. The security agency has reached out to Azerbaijani authorities to discuss the possibility of Matraimov's arrest and subsequent extradition to Kyrgyzstan.

It has been revealed that Matraimov is linked to the detained members of the transnational criminal organization from Azerbaijan, who were plotting the assassination of Kyrgyzstan's leadership, as highlighted by the GKNB.
