The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan advises Kyrgyz citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Russia due to recent events. This caution follows a terrorist incident on March 22 at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow and the increased security measures in place throughout Russia. Citizens are encouraged to postpone their trips unless absolutely necessary until the heightened security measures are eased. Those with upcoming travel plans should verify entry restrictions on the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs website. Individuals with multiple administrative infractions from previous visits to Russia are urged to refrain from traveling to prevent potential border complications. For individuals already in Russia, it is recommended to steer clear of crowded areas, carry identification documents, and adhere to law enforcement instructions. In case of emergencies, citizens can seek assistance from the Kyrgyz Embassy in Moscow or the Consular Department of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The tragic terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow resulted in 137 fatalities and 287 injuries, including three children among the deceased. Two Kyrgyz nationals, Edita Zhusupova and Maiza Guljigit, are currently missing following the attack, and search efforts are ongoing. According to the FSB, four suspects involved in the attack have been apprehended in the Bryansk region and transferred to Moscow for further detention. These individuals are currently under the custody of the Basmanny Court in Moscow.
