Kyrgyzstan's Mountainous Regions on High Alert for Avalanches and Snow Drifts

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued a warning about the risk of avalanches, snow drifts, ice, and freezing rain in the mountainous areas of Kyrgyzstan. According to Kyrgyzhydromet, from March 29 to April 1, the country is expected to experience a rise in temperatures and heavy rainfall.

Areas at risk of avalanches include:

- Between 121-138 kilometers on the Bishkek-Osh highway (Too-Ashu pass)

- Between 198-255 kilometers (Chychkan gorge, Ala-Bel pass)

- Between 74-107 kilometers on the Myrza-Ake-Kara-Kulzha-Alaikuu route

- Between 68-74 kilometers on the Ala-Buka-Kanysh-Kyia-Kyzyl-Adyr route

- Between 86-101 kilometers (Chapchyma pass)

- Between 0-3 kilometers on the Kyzyl-Bel-Aktash highway

- Between 45-90 kilometers on the Karakol-Enilchek route (Chon-Ashu pass)

It is recommended to maintain a distance of 500 meters between vehicles when passing through avalanche-prone areas to ensure safety on the roads. Drivers should exercise caution and follow guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure smooth travel, especially with the changing weather conditions.
