in National Security / Kyrgyzstan - by

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a state of emergency has been declared in the Chui region due to strong winds. Around 16:20 today, a wind with speeds of 18-26 meters per second hit Bishkek and the Chui region, causing destruction and injuries.

All emergency services have intensified their operations. Mobile teams from the Civil Defense services have been deployed to assess the affected areas and determine the extent of the damage. All available municipal services and special equipment have been mobilized to quickly restore order.

In Bishkek, the strong winds lifted dust from the ground, tore off several roofs, and uprooted trees. Due to power line disruptions, the operation of all trolleybuses, except for routes 11 and 10, has been temporarily suspended. Some areas are experiencing power outages.

A Civil Defense commission is assessing the damage caused by the winds. Efforts are underway to address the aftermath of the severe weather and ensure the safety and well-being of the affected population in the region.
