Electricity Consumption Measures Taken in Kyrgyzstan Amid Power Deficit

in National Security / Kyrgyzstan - by

The National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan has reported a power deficit of 290 megawatts due to reduced water levels at the Toktogul Reservoir and maintenance work on two hydro units. This situation has led to equipment operating at overload, triggering protective systems.

To prevent equipment failure, load regulation measures are being implemented. Consumers are urged to use electricity wisely, avoiding simultaneous use of multiple energy-intensive devices, especially during peak hours from 6:00 to 9:00 in the morning and 18:00 to 21:00 in the evening.

Deputy Minister of Energy Taalaibek Baigaziev warned of possible increased power outages starting from March 5 if the power shortage persists. Adjustments to automation systems and additional regulatory measures are being considered to address the situation.
