Turkish police have detained two individuals from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in Istanbul on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack on behalf of the terrorist organization ISIS. The operation, conducted in the Pendik district of the city, led to the seizure of military uniforms, a police bulletproof vest, a radio, and other accessories, as well as instructions for carrying out an attack.

The detainees, a 37-year-old Tajik citizen and a 41-year-old Kyrgyz woman, admitted to planning an act of violence during interrogation. The Tajik citizen has been placed under arrest by the prosecutor's office, while the Kyrgyz woman has been deported from Turkey.

Turkish security forces have been actively carrying out operations against ISIS almost daily. On the day of the local elections held on March 31, the country's Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 51 individuals suspected of having ties to ISIS, including in Istanbul.
